Starting Locations

Starting in Crucader system

New Babbage (microTech)
New Babbage (microTech) is widely considered the best starting location for new players. Nestled amidst freezing planetary blizzards, this sleek, high-tech dome city features a clean layout and an easy-to-navigate transit system. It boasts The Commons—a centralized shopping hub where you can buy nearly every type of weapon, armor, and ship component in the game—making gearing up quick and effortless.

Lorville (Hurston)
Lorville (Hurston) is a sprawling, gritty industrial metropolis run by the corporate weapons manufacturer Hurston Dynamics. Located near the center of the Stanton system, it is a fantastic starting choice if you value travel convenience. A major highlight of this landing zone is New Deal, one of the premiere in-game ship dealerships where you can purchase vehicles using credits (aUEC) earned through gameplay. While navigating its hazy skies and industrial metro trains takes some getting used to, its central location makes flying across the solar system much faster.

Area 18 (ArcCorp)
Area 18 (ArcCorp) is a bustling, neon-lit cyberpunk metropolis situated on a planet covered entirely by skyscrapers and urban sprawl. It offers one of the most visually stunning starts in the game, evoking an intense Blade Runner atmosphere. Navigating from your hab block to Riker Memorial Spaceport is remarkably fast thanks to the ArcCorp CityFlight transit shuttle. The central plaza features Cubby Blast, making it effortless to gear up with armor, weapons, and backpacks right off the tram. Once you launch into space, you can set your permanent medical respawn point at the orbital station Baijini Point.

Starting in Nyx system

Levski
Unlike massive planetary cities like Lorville or New Babbage, Delamar is a planet-sized asteroid with virtually no thick atmosphere and very low gravity. This means leaving your hangar and reaching space takes only seconds, completely eliminating the tedious 3-to-5 minute climb through clouds and atmospheric resistance.

Starting in Pyro system

Checkmate Station (near the Stanton Gateway)
Checkmate Station is widely considered the best home base in the Pyro system. Originally constructed as a mining resupply satellite before being abandoned and claimed by the Rough & Ready outlaw gang, it offers a gritty, frontier atmosphere. Located at the L4 Lagrange point of Monox (Pyro II), Checkmate sits conveniently close to the Stanton-Pyro Gateway, making it the perfect transition hub for players jumping between star systems. It is famous among Pyro veterans for boasting some of the most well-stocked weapon and ammo vendors in the system, alongside reliable refinery services and hydroponic food markets.

Orbituary (Bloom)
Orbituary (Bloom) is an outlaw-controlled orbital space station suspended high above the frozen, windswept world of Bloom (Pyro III). Originally built by corporate conglomerates to resupply miners, it has since been reclaimed by frontier gangs as a bustling trading post and waystation. Because it orbits directly above Bloom rather than floating in a deep-space Lagrange point, Orbituary is widely considered the most convenient starting station for planetary explorers and mercenaries. It gives you immediate access to Bloom’s surface missions without ever forcing you to spend time climbing out of a planetary atmosphere when taking off. The station is fully equipped with an expansive Galleria, armor and weapon vendors, a medical clinic for setting your respawn imprint, and an active Refinery Deck for industrial mining pilots

Ruin Station (Pyro VI)
Ruin Station (Pyro VI) is the ultimate lawless megastation and the cultural heart of Pyro's criminal underworld. Originally constructed by Pyrotechnic Amalgamated as a massive corporate mining hub before being abandoned and overrun by outlaw gangs, it is a sprawling labyrinth of dimly lit corridors, black markets, and makeshift bazaars. While it is a high-risk, PvP-heavy environment where law enforcement does not exist, Ruin Station is an absolute paradise for outlaws, smugglers, and mercenaries. It offers exclusive access to high-paying illicit contracts, rare black-market weaponry, and a truly unforgiving frontier experience right from your first day in the 'verse.
